Historically, lizard males are represented as dwelling in swamps. Whereas chilly blooded reptiles can tolerate a variety of temperatures with a versatile metabolic price, in contrast to excessive output heat blooded mammals, historically swamps can be colder than deserts. Is it as a result of crocodilians are water based mostly ambush predators? Typically lizard males are much less swamp and extra jungle, maybe as a result of that might be hotter.
